International Builder Show Recap
The Zengel Group attended the National Association of Homebuilders’ International Builder’s Show in Orlando Florida. During the three-day show we took part in various meetings, seminars, and walked the sales floor to see the latest trends and new products. With more than 1,500 manufacturers and suppliers it was hard to see everything but we have compiled a list of some of our favorites.
At the top of our list is black stainless steel. Black stainless steel appliances are the latest kitchen trend. Our favorite thing about this new finish is that it is fingerprint and smudge resistant. While we were at the LG booth we were sure to check out just how finger print resistant they were.
Next, two tone kitchen cabinets: a great way to add some contrast to your kitchen, and is an easy way to incorporate some color. As well asan easy way to help beak up monotone natural wood cabinets. Having a darker color on the bottom cabinets can create a grounding affect. Darker cabinets on top will pull the ceiling down and create a
Kohler has one of the largest booths at the show. They featured wall-mounted toilets, stand alone tubs, rainfall showers, and highlighted their new fixture finishes. This year they released four new finishes; Rose Gold, Vibrant Titanium, Vintage Nickel, and Matte Black.
Technology is now being used to connect your doorbell to your smartphone. Ring has developed a line of video doorbells that allow you to see, hear, and speak to visitors at your door with your smartphone, tablet, or computer. They are also motion activated so you can see who is hanging around outside of your house as well. They have various models to fit everyone’s needs.
At the Legrand booth Jim had the chance to chat with Mike from Legrand about some of their new products and modifications to existing lines. We have been using their under cabinet modular in many of our projects because we love how it helps keep your kitchen counters clear and decorative backsplash free of outlets. Legrand provides under cabinet lighting and outlets, as well as accessories to hold cell phones and tablets. Their line of light switches have various features like motion sensors, fan controls, dimmers, and timers. We love all the options that these switches provide and their use of technology in the wave motion sense switch.
Organized Living displayed ways to help keep all areas of your life more organized. This company has solutions to help organize your bedroom, pantry, kid’s rooms, garages and more. They have options to help improve efficiently in your home and maximize every inch of space. Some of their products can even be installed on open walls. We love that these storage systems are adjustable so they can be moved or added to at any point by the customer without any tools. One of the things we love most about Organized Living is its flexibility to be changed as your needs change.
